Our Story
Since 2011, Blue Truffle Music, LLC has organized, sponsored and promoted live jazz concerts and jam sessions, and published a newsletter for new and longtime jazz fans alike.
Jazz is America's original art form, with a complicated yet fascinating history and a remarkable power to bring people together. Announcing International Jazz Day 2025, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay described it this way:
“…jazz’s ability to connect communities and promote dialogue and peace across continents.”
Our mission, The Art of Fine Jazz, is to share that spirit with anyone curious about why this music, with its intricate improvisation, harmony and rhythm, is a landmark of human culture.
What We Do
Championing artists who deserve to be heard
Most jazz musicians devote their lives to mastering the art of improvisation rather than chasing commercial success. Because they value artistic excellence over stardom, they're too often overlooked by mainstream media. Our Artist Spotlight series regularly features these musicians, so more listeners can discover them.
Welcoming newcomers
We also support aspiring jazz musicians, hobbyists, and anyone who's new to jazz, through our jam sessions, where students and veteran players share the bandstand, and our free New to Jazz resources.
Learning more about jazz
Beyond the Artist Spotlight, we publish articles to help people explore jazz, including:
- Blue Truffle concerts and jam sessions
- International Jazz Day
- Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM)
- Jazz improvisation and creativity
- Community jazz organizations
- Tips for jazz fans
- Jazz radio
