The Watchung Arts Center hosted its first International Jazz Day Concert on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

April 30th is the final day of Jazz Appreciation Month, created in 2001 by the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History.

International Jazz Day was organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (“UNESCO”) in 2011 “to highlight jazz and its diplomatic role of uniting people in all corners of the globe.”

This concert was registered with UNESCO as an official International Jazz Day event.

Advance ticket purchase was recommended because Chris DeVito’s bands have filled both the Watchung Arts Center (Valentine’s Concerts for the past 3 years) and Liberty Corner’s Douglas Hall (for the past 4 Malawi Visions Jazz Fundraisers at Liberty Corner Church).
